Color Natchez 5k benefits: Young Professionals/Leadership Natchez
A great community doesn’t just happen. It is planned. The success and development of our community is possible through the united efforts of our concerned businesses and professionals. And especially during challenging times, working together we can stand a better chance to progress individually as well as a community. The Natchez Adams County Chamber of Commerce recognizes that fact as committed businesses and we have worked diligently to help provide opportunities in Leadership, tourism, economic development, education and training as well as to help find solutions where and when they are needed.
Since 1988, the chamber has sponsored a Leadership Natchez program which has identified, educated and inspired leaders through monthly sessions learning how to better serve in this community. Each year, the class targets specific needs in the community. So far this year they have helped with Habitat for Humanity, for our Local Balloon Races and the Stew Pot.
The Natchez Young Professionals program started in 2010, as an organization of Young professionals that foster the involvement and engagement in issues that affect the future of Natchez. These individuals have volunteered in the community, implemented special events, as well as visited businesses to better know the community they serve. This group is our resource that will determine the community’s future and success.
As you can see, these 2 groups lead the way in our community, but it takes direction and resources, both human and capital, to make that happen. We are proud of these groups for their time, effort, and passion for our/their community as we look to the future.
